Dry Needling

Dry needling is the utilization of fine filament needles that are inserted into muscles to stimulate myofascial trigger points and areas of dysfunctional tissue that would otherwise be impalpable manually. Dry needling has been shown to improve pain control, reduce muscle tension, and normalize dysfunctions of the motor end plates, the areas that send nerve impulses to the muscle. Programming dry needling along with patient-specific therapeutic exercises can speed the recovery process.
