Cryotherapy & Thermotherapy

Cryotherapy is the use of cold modalities to constrict blood vessels resulting in the decrease in excessive inflammation. Conversely, thermotherapy is the use of heat modalities to increase blood flow to an area to improve mobility and promote the healing of damaged tissues. Both cryotherapy and thermotherapy can be effective at reducing pain and improving healing potential. Your physical therapist will help you select the best method to incorporate into your recovery regime.

At BARWIS Physical Therapy we utilize NICE ice machines and Venom heat/vibration devices for the most effective and comfortable application.
